Welcome to our website, all about the Infant Feeding Project in Blackpool and North Lancashire, which is moving the areas' NHS Communities and Children's Centres, together with Blackpool Victoria Hospital and The Royal Lancaster Infirmary, towards becoming 'Baby Friendly', via the UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative.

Via the buttons on the left or the links at the foot of the page, you can find materials to download such as leaflets and booklets for parents, details about upcoming events, info about and access to infant feeding support, and catch up on local progress towards local Baby Friendly accreditation.

This project is being undertaken by a massive team of staff from various backgrounds including midwives, health visitors, nurses, children's centre staff, doctors, public health staff, voluntary sector breastfeeding peer supporters and council staff: the multi-disciplinary nature of the team is a large part of its success in producing the required educational and cultural shift towards entirely patient-centred evidence-based practice and Baby Friendly professional standards.
